SMC hoops develops leadership & teamwork

SMC’s recent successful basketball season offers lessons in leadership and teamwork far beyond the court.  Looking at how the team performed so well despite being new to each other helps explain why the Gaels achieved far more than anyone anticipated.

Though many players were new to each other or their roles, they quickly embraced the principles of leadership and selfless teamwork that coach Randy Bennett espouses on the basketball court—principles that are consistent with the thinking of experts in the field like Saint Mary’s faculty members Ken Otter and Nancy Lam.
