Braman pitches Waynesboro to VBL finals

Saint Mary’s baseball senior-to-be right-handed pitcher Vince Braman was electric Monday night, throwing a complete game shutout to defeat the Covington (Va.) Lumberjacks 2-0 and carry his summer baseball team, the Waynesboro (Va.) Generals of the Valley Baseball League, into the VBL championship series later this week.

Braman struck out six while only walking one and scattering five hits. He only needed the two runs of support as he shut down the Lumberjacks for the whole game. Monday was a continuation of success this summer for Braman, who tied for the VBL lead in victories (5) and was named All-VBL Second Team on Monday.
