Burnes, Nolan promoted in minor leagues

Corbin Burnes and Nate Nolan of the 2016 WCC Champion Saint Mary’s baseball team have already been promoted this summer as the quartet of Gaels 2016 MLB Draft picks finds early success.

Burnes began his professional career in the rookie-level Arizona League with the AZL Brewers, but has since been promoted to full-season Wisconsin Timber Rattlers of the Single-A Midwest League. Nolan started his summer with the Chicago White Sox rookie affiliate Great Falls Voyagers. He has been promoted to the full season Kannapolis (N.C.) Intimidators of the Single-A South Atlantic League.

Anthony Gonsolin and Anthony Villa are also finding success. Gonsolin has already recorded his first professional save and has 11 strikeouts in seven appearances for the Ogden Raptors. Villa has already hit his first professional home run and has 10 RBIs for the same Great Falls Voyagers that Nolan previously played for.
