Former Saint Mary’s men’s basketball manager Matt Scully is one of three local police officers credited with saving the life of a man who suddenly collapsed while on a treadmill at a San Ramon gym Sunday, according to Patch.com.
Scully, along with corporate Tami Williams and Sophia Wrangham, began CPR and used a defibrillator on the man until San Ramon Valley Fire personnel arrived to take over. The man is reported as improving in a local hospital.
On Tuesday, the San Ramon Fire Protection District recognized Scully and the other two officers for their lifesaving efforts.
Check out this story in the Napa Valley Register about Scully from March, 2011.
