Former Saint Mary’s baseball player Kyle Jensen kept his torching summer going on Monday when he finished runner-up in the 2016 Triple-A Home Run Derby in Charlotte.
Jensen, who had a record-setting June for the Reno Aces and earned a spot on the Pacific Coast League All-Star team, launched 26 home runs in the first two rounds to get to the final against Chris Marrero of the Pawtucket Red Sox. Jensen hit an impressive 17 more long balls in the final, but Marrero topped him with 18 to take the title.
