2016 MLB Draft begins Thursday

After a record-breaking season this year, the Saint Mary’s baseball program expects more accolades to come its way when the 2016 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft begins on Thursday. The Gaels should have several players getting attention from Big League clubs who look to tap into the Saint Mary’s program talent.

All 40 rounds of the draft will be televised and/or streamed live on MLB.com. The first and second rounds, including supplemental and competitive lottery picks, will take place beginning at 4 p.m. PDT Thursday. Thursday’s first and second rounds will be broadcast on the MLB Network and on MLB.com. Friday will contain rounds 3-10 and will be streamed live on MLB.com starting at 10 a.m. PDT. Rounds 11-40 will all take place on Saturday and all will be streamed live on MLB.com starting at 9 a.m. PDT.

  • Saturday – Rounds 3-10, MLB.com (10 a.m. PDT)
  • Sunday – Rounds 11-40, MLB.com (9 a.m. PDT)
