The Saint Mary’s College baseball team’s third annual First Pitch Dinner on Saturday is officially sold out, as announced by the SMC Athletics Development team.
The event, being held for the first time at the Blackhawk Country Club in Danville, Calif., is sold to capacity, which will make the event the biggest it has ever been with record-breaking attendance, and in turn a record-breaking fundraising night for the program. The evening will feature dinner, both a live and silent auction, and a stand-up comedy performance by Milt Abel. Donnie Schwartz will act as the live auctioneer. Players and coaches will be on hand and introduced, and alumni will be in attendance as well.
Sunday’s Alumni Game at Louis Guisto Field on campus is scheduled for a noon first pitch, with both alumni and the 2016 Gaels taking full batting practice and fielding warmups. The Alumni Game is free to attend and will be the first such game under head coach Eric Valenzuela’s three-year tenure.
Those wishing to still make a contribution to the Saint Mary’s baseball program can do so through the baseball team fund page. The 2016 season opens at home on Feb. 19 versus Seattle. Season tickets, group tickets, multi-game plans and single game tickets are available for purchase on SMCGaels.com or by calling (925) 631-GoTx. Find the full 2016 Saint Mary’s baseball schedule here.
