As the college basketball season nears the halfway point in its regular season, the Saint Mary’s men’s basketball team has consistently remained among the national leaders in NCAA statistical categories.

As far as national ratings/rankings go, the Gaels continue to rise up the listings among the nation’s top teams:
SMC enters Thursday’s game at Loyola Marymount (7 p.m., SMCGaels.com) with a 13-1 overall record and a perfect 4-0 mark in the WCC. The Gaels have played four games against teams rated among the NCAA’s top 100: California (41), UC Irvine (47), Stanford (78), BYU (88).
Gonzaga is the second-highest rated WCC team at No. 46.
