Former Saint Mary’s College standout pitcher Kyle Barraclough will be honored next month by the Santa Clara County Hot Stove Corporation at the organization’s 32nd Annual Hot Stove Banquet on Jan. 19, 2016.
Barraclough, a native of Santa Clara, Calif., who played prep baseball at Wilcox High School in the South Bay, was named the organization’s 2015 Major League Pitcher of the Year. The organization honors Santa Clara County baseball players from the Major and minor leagues, college and high school levels. Also being honored on Jan. 19 will be Joc Pederson of the Los Angeles Dodgers and Mark Canha of the Oakland Athletics.
Barraclough made his Major League debut with the Miami Marlins on Aug. 7 versus the Atlanta Braves. He would make 25 appearances over the Marlins’ final 53 games of the season, going 2-1 with a 2.59 ERA and 30 strikeouts. He averaged 11.1 strikeouts per nine innings and posted a 1.23 WHIP (Walks plus Hits per Innings Pitched).
The banquet will be held at the San Jose Elks Club at 444 W. Alma Avenue, San Jose, CA 95110. Tickets to the event are $50 per person.
