Geyer qualifies for PGA Tour’s Fry’ Open

Former Saint Mary’s golfer Ben Geyer continued his string of recent success today when he fired a 3-under par 69 to secure a qualifying spot in this weekend’s PGA Tour event – the Fry’ Open at Silverado Resort and Spa in Napa.

The Arbuckle native finished last season strong, registering two top 5 finishes among the last four events on the Mackenzie Tour (PGA Tour Canada).  He played 13 events on the Tour and made one appearance in a PGA Tour event.

Geyer opened today’s qualifier with four birdies among the first five holes at Bayonet Golf Course.  He hit a tough patch over the next 10 holes, going 3-over par before finishing strong with a trio of birdies to earn qualification.
