Rising senior golfer Jonathan De Los Reyes set a course record with a final round 6-under par 65 today to finish third overall at the annual NCGA Amateur Stoke Play Championships at Poppy Hills Golf Course.
The Antioch, Calif. native led a strong Saint Mary’s contingent that included seven current, former and future golfers, each of which made the cut and finished among the top 40 overall.
Rising sophomore Connor Blick finished tied for 15th at 12-over par, while classmate Perry Cohen finished tied for 20th at 13-over. Rising junior Hunter Rappleye tied for 25th. Incoming freshmen Jeffrey Inouye-Wong tied for 29th and Evan Peterson finished 39th. Coach Scott Hardy, a two-time champion of the event, finished 34th overall.
Also making an impact in the Southern California event at Oakmont Country Club in Glendale, rising sophomore Roman Aragon finished tied for 33rd.
Saint Mary’s returns to Poppy Hills in September for the annual Saint Mary’s Invitational.
