Just a few weeks after earning a promotion to Double-A Springfield, former Saint Mary’s pitcher Kyle Barraclough added another impressive line to his resume when he was named a Texas League All-Star last week.
The right-hander has found a home in the bullpen, and his promotion to Double-A came on the heels of a tremendous start to the season at High-A Palm Beach. In 24 appearances this season between both Single and Double-A, Barraclough carries a 2-0 record with eight saves and a 0.60 ERA. In Springfield, he owns the same 0.60 ERA in 13 appearances and has four saves. Double-A hitters are batting just .154 against him and Barraclough has allowed a grand total of one run in 15 innings pitched.
Barraclough’s teammate in Springfield is also a name well known to Gaels fans. Infielder and fellow former SMC star Patrick Wisdom has caught fire lately, hitting safely in six of his last seven games entering Monday’s game against Tulsa, and was recently profiled in a feature by MILB.com.
