Hodgson invited to World University Games training camp

Former Saint Mary’s center Matthew Hodgson has been invited to participate in a 16-man training camp in preparation for the 2015 World University Games this summer.  The team will be reduced to a 12-player side that will represent Australia at the Games, which take place July 3-14 in South Korea.

The invitees will travel to Canberra for a training camp on June 14, with a final team of 12 to be decided over the following days. They will then head to China for several warm-up games before the games get underway.

Hodgson, a native of Booval, Queensland, lettered two seasons at Saint Mary’s – in 2013 and 2014.  He played in 66 games and averaged 3.1 points and 2.3 rebounds per game after transferring to SMC after two seasons at Southern Utah.
