Stella Beck of the Saint Mary’s women’s basketball team is being noticed both in the states and back home in New Zealand. Jeff Taylor (FIBA) recently wrote a brief update on the SMC standout.
Beck recently completed her freshman campaign for the Gaels, earning West Coast Conference Newcomer of the Year honors. Beck led the WCC in field-goal percentage, shooting at a .550 clip, converting 99-of-180 field-goals.
For the year, Beck averaged 8.1 ppg and 6.1 rpg, scoring in double-figures in 14 of 33 games played. Beck had season highs of 17 points and 14 rebounds.
