Rawls signs with USL’s Wilmington Hammerheads FC

Rawls3Former Saint Mary’s goalkeeper Andre Rawls has joined Wilmington (N.C.) Hammerheads FC of the United Soccer League.

In January, he was selected by New York City FC in the MLS SuperDraft and spent time training with the club over the last few months.  Even though Wilmington is affiliated with NYCFC, Rawls is not on loan with the club.  He signed a professional contract with Wilmington for the regular season.

“Andre is a very talented young goalkeeper that we are excited to add to our group,” said Hammerheads FC Technical Director and Head Coach Carson Porter. “He spent the preseason with NYCFC and in just those few weeks he made massive strides. We hope he continues this rapid development here in Wilmington.”
