Carli Rosenthal of the Saint Mary’s women’s basketball team was recently interviewed by her hometown paper by sports editor Mark Nelke. The interview updates us on the importance of Rosenthal to the Gaels and the success of the program.
The Gaels have been on the NCAA bubble in each of Rosenthal’s four seasons, with this year proving no different as SMC enters the big showdown with Gonzaga with an RPI of 47 (second in the WCC to only Gonzaga at 41). SMC has 86 wins and counting in the four seasons Rosenthal has been at SMC.
The Gaels enter the week with an 18-7 overall mark and a 11-3 second-place standing in the West Coast Conference.
Next week is senior week with the week concluding on Saturday, February 28th against Santa Clara. Fans are encouraged to come out and see Rosenthal, along with seniors Amanda Arter and Hayley Hendricksen, honored in a ceremony before the 1:00 p.m. tip in McKeon Pavilion.
