In an offseason already filled with honors, incoming Saint Mary’s volleyball players Lindsey Knudsen and Lindsey Calvin added to their haul recently as each picked up another prestigious award.
Knudsen, who earlier earned co-Foothill League Player of the Year from league coaches, was named Los Angeles Daily News Girls Volleyball Player of the Year for her standout play at Valencia High. Daily News writer Tony Ciniglio spoke with Knudsen and wrote about her leadership skills.
At the same time Knudsen was earning kudos from her local paper, Calvin was also adding to her list of senior year accomplishments. Having already secured Tulare County volleyball player of the year by the Visalia Times-Delta and Tulare Advance Register, the Gaels’ incoming middle blocker recently earned Offensive Player of the Year honors from the Fresno Bee. Calvin helped lead Central Valley Christian to the Central Section Division II title.
