Molly Aloia Named Head Tennis Coach At Dominican

Former Saint Mary’s tennis player Molly Aloia has been officially named as head coach of the Dominican University women’s tennis program, athletic director Brandon Leimbach announced Wednesday.

The move is actually a promotion for Aloia, who served as the Penguins’ assistant coach for the past two seasons. She replaces another Gael, Alex Poorta, who left Dominican this summer to return to Moraga as an assistant coach for head coach Lisa Alipaz.

Aloia graduated from Saint Mary’s in 2012 with a degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in health and human performance. She was a part of the program’s first West Coast Conference title and earned the George R. McKeon Scholar-Athlete of the Year award from the SMC Athletic Department.
