Saint Mary’s Volleyball Takes Time Out For Community Service

IMG_3874On Saturday, members of the Saint Mary’s volleyball team and its extended family got up a little earlier than they might normally on a weekend to help do their part on California Coastal Cleanup Day.

The Gaels partnered with The Watershed Project in Orinda to help pick up trash and remove harmful plants from local creeks and shorelines. That meant, not even 14 hours removed from playing Friday night’s match against Cal, the team broke out the rakes, picks and shovels to help chop, pull and weed to do their part for the environment. In the process, the Gaels helped contribute to The Watershed Project’s mission of inspiring Bay Area communities to understand, appreciate, and protect our local watersheds.
