Saint Mary’s Stadium getting a new rug

sodWorkers from Delta Bluegrass Company are laying new sod today and tomorrow in Saint Mary’s Stadium.  Under the direction of Mercado Landscaping, they are installing a total of 102,226 square feet of sod that should provide the Gaels one of the top natural grass competitive surfaces on the West Coast.  A total of 16 trucks delivered 342 rolls of three types of sod:  Hybrid Bermudas for the field, 90/10 Tall Fescue and a Special Shade Blend for the outlying areas adjacent to the field.

The stadium also features a new state-of-the-art Daktronics scoreboard.

The first game date for the SMC men and women’s soccer teams to play on the new field has not been set.
