The first Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) individual rankings of the season were released Monday and two members of the Saint Mary’s women’s tennis team earned spots on the list as teams around the nation prepare for the fall season to begin.
Jamie Pawid returns for her second season with the Gaels and the Castro Valley, Calif. native will start the fall as SMC’s highest-ranked player at No. 74 in the nation. She’s joined on the list by senior Catherine Leduc, who starts the season at No. 116.
Saint Mary’s begins its season on Sept. 26 when it competes in the Cal Nike Invitational in Berkeley. The Gaels will host their annual Saint Mary’s Fall Invitational on Oct. 24-26 and kick off the dual season on Jan. 25 when they take on Fresno State as part of the ITA National Indoor Tournament at Cal.
