De Los Reyes finishes 2nd at State Fair Am

Saint Mary’s junior Jonathan De Los Reyes fired a 2-under par 70 today to finish in runner-up position at the 90th California State Fair Men’s Amateur Championship at MacKenzie Golf Course at Haggin Oaks in Sacramento.

Incoming Saint Mary’s freshmen Pavan Sagoo and Roman Aragon each finished in a tie for 34th place in the 154-golfer field at 1-under par 215.  Sagoo, a native of London, England, carded rounds of 70-70-75.  Mission Viejo, Calif. native Aragon shot 73-69-73.

De Los Reyes entered the day at 12-under with consecutive rounds of 66.  Today, he carded a 2-under par  70 to finish just 2 strokes behind University of Washington sophomore Corey Pereira.

Saint Mary’s opens its season September 15-16 by hosting the annual Saint Mary’s Invitational at Bayonet and Black Horse Golf Club in Seaside, Calif.
