Refioglu among early leaders at Pacific Coast Amateur

Former Saint Mary’s golfer Dalan Refioglu fired a 4-under par 66 and sits in a tie for fourth place after the round of competition at the 48th Pacific Coast Amateur at Pine Canyon in Flagstaff, Ariz.

A native of Foster City, Calif., Refioglu bogeyed his first hole, the 430-yard par 4 10th, then went 6-under over his next 12 holes with four birdies and an eagle.  After a double bogey on the par 3 fifth hole, he completed his round with a trio of pars and a birdie on his 18th hole to finish at 4-under.

University of Maryland junior Andrew McCain grabbed an early 3-stroke lead after carding an impressive 8-under par 72.  Wake Forest sophomore Clancy Waugh is tied with CSU Fullerton senior Mark Anguiano for second place at 5-under par.
