McConnell’s Hornets advance to Summer League semis

Mickey McConnell and the Charlotte Hornets face the Houston Rockets today at 3 p.m. (Pacific) in the semifinals of the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas (TV: NBATV).  The winner plays either Sacramento or Washington in the finals tomorrow at 3 p.m.

McConnell is one of three players on the Hornets to start all six games, leads the team (7th in the league) in assists and is second in minutes played.  His 8.0 points per game is fourth on the Hawks.  McConnell has delivered 17 assists in the team’s last two games.

Stephen Holt’s Atlanta Hawks dropped their quarterfinal game to the Houston Rockets 78-71 yesterday.  Holt earned his third start in five games and scored six points in 31 minutes.  His Summer League averages ended up at 8.6 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 23.8 minutes per game.  He was fourth on the team in scoring, second in assists and second in 3-point percentage.
