Student tickets go quick for Saturday’s game

With the final two men’s basketball games of the regular season just days away, Saint Mary’s students showed their excitement for Saturday’s Senior Day game against Gonzaga this morning by claiming all 600 available tickets in a matter of just a few hours.

The Gael Force executive team conducted a ticket distribution for Saturday’s game starting this 7:30 this morning at Chapel Plaza in the front of campus.  Within just more than an hour approximately 400 tickets had been distributed.  Just more than an hour later they were all gone.

Normally, SMC students simply show their ID at the Gael Force entrance to McKeon Pavilion to gain free access to athletic events.  However, due to Saturday’s game being Senior Day against Gonzaga the Gael Force decided to conduct a ticket distribution to ensure a smoother entry into the facility.

Saint Mary’s hosts Portland Thursday night at 6 p.m. (Comcast SportsNet) then welcomes Gonzaga to McKeon Pavilion Saturday in a 7 p.m. tipoff (ESPN2).  Saturday’s sold out game against the Bulldogs will serve as the final home game for six SMC seniors:  Matthew Hodgson, Stephen Holt, Beau Levesque, Paul McCoy, Eividas Petrulis and James Walker III.
