Gaels receive local media coverage

With the euphoria of a local professional football team earning an upcoming trip to the Super Bowl, coverage of college basketball by traditional Bay Area news outlets has been noticeably decreased this year.

Today, however, a couple of longtime local hoops scribes weighed-in on last week’s Saint Mary’s buzzer-beating victory at BYU and a couple of other Gael-related topics.

In addition, the Gaels continue to get some love in the 503.  The Oregonian’s Nick Daschel wrote an extended game story that centered on the Portland-area influence on the SMC program, noting that the Gaels have more players from Portland-metro area than any other Division I school in the country.
