A few Gaels-related items to keep your eye on today

The sun is shining.  The birds are singing.  Campus is buzzing with De La Salle Week activites.  And, there are some really great things happening on the Gaels sports front.

  • The only on-campus intercollegiate athletics event taking place is a noon women’s tennis match against Portland at Korth Tennis Complex.  The Gaels are 4-1 in the WCC and ranked 41st nationally.  So, if you get a chance to come out today (or tomorrow in the team’s final home match of the season), do so.  They are really impressive to watch!
  • The SMC baseball team, fresh off an awesome come-from-behind victory yesterday, plays game two of its three-game series at San Francisco today at 1 p.m.  If you are in the city today, come by and support the Gaels!
  • Mickey McConnell plays in the third-place game at the Portsmouth Invitational today at 3 p.m. in Virginia.
  • Women’s soccer is playing Cal State Fullerton and San Diego State down in Temecula, Calif. at the College Classic.  The games are part of the team’s offseason spring schedule.

There are a few events taking place tomorrow (Sunday) on campus.  The Saint Mary’s rugby team hosts Cal in a big rivalry match at 1 p.m. at Vincent Field.  The Daily Californian had this preview of the match

The women’s tennis team hosts Denver at 11 a.m.  And, women’s lacrosse plays its final home game of the season against Oregon at 1 p.m.

If you make it out to campus this weekend (or any other time, really), be sure to check-in on Foursquare.
