In case you missed it… That Dellavedova guy played pretty well last night

While much of the world was captivated last night by NCIS or The Voice, the Saint Mary’s men’s basketball team put on quite a show of its own in a 53-point victory over Jackson State.  Senior All-America candidate Matthew Dellavedova registered his second-straight 31-point game, while Beau Levesque recorded his first double-double and several other Gaels set personal bests.

It took a while to compile, but here is a list of noteworthy accomplishments from last night:

  • The Gaels’ 120 points last night equaled the second-most ever for a Saint Mary’s team in a single game.  It was just one shy of the 121 it laid on Chicago State in 2010-11.  It is also the most scored by a West Coast Conference Team this season.
  • The 53-point margin of victory was the fifth best in school history.  The school record is 69 in that 121-52 win over Chicago State.  There is also a 58-point win over Berkeley Athletic Club in 1936-37 and a pair of 56-point victories vs. UC Santa Cruz (2001) and Sonoma State (1993).
  • Matthew Dellavedova surpassed Diamon Simpson for fifth on the school list for field goal attempts (1,101).  He also continues to climb the record books in various other categories.  You can see the complete list by clicking on this link.
  • Dellavedova tied his career-high with six 3-point field goals (he went 6-of-8).  He scored 31 points for the second-straight game and it was just one shy of his career high.
  • Jordan Giusti handed-out a career-best seven assists.
  • Beau Levesque set a career-high with 10 rebounds and registered his first double-double.
  • Jorden Page set a season-high with 13 points, five free throws and five three throw attempts.
  • Brad Waldow scored a career-high 21 points and equaled his career high for field goals made with eight.
  • James Walker III tied his season-highs with 14 points and five field goals.  He also grabbed four steals and has nine steals in his last two games.
  • Eividas Petrulis scored a career-high nine points in a career-high nine minutes of action.
  • Mitchell Young equaled his season-high with seven rebounds.
