The Saint Mary’s men’s basketball team arrived in The Hawkeye State today for tomorrow night’s contest at Drake after seven hours of travel from Moraga to Des Moines, Iowa. The Gaels departed campus at 6:30 a.m., flew from San Francisco with a short layover in Denver and arrived in mid-afternoon.
The team went through a workout at Drake’s 7,152-seat Knapp Center before returning to its hotel for a quick dinner then plenty of rest before taking on the Bulldogs from the Missouri Valley Conference. You can check out our preview at this link.
The game, which is a non-bracketed matchup that is technically considered part of last week’s DIRECTV Classic, is scheduled for a 5 p.m. (Pacific) tipoff. There is no television coverage of the game. SMCGaels.com will have a live audio stream provided by Alex Jensen (there is also a rumor that former play-by-play man Mike Bouve could make an appearance). Links to live statistics will also be available on SMCGaels.com.
