Former Saint Mary’s center Omar Samhan has been invited to training camp with the NBA’s Houston Rockets, according to respected Houston Chronicle reporter Jonathan Feigen.
The Rockets, coached by former Boston Celtics star Kevin McHale, also signed guard Jermaine Taylor from the Sacramento Kings and added guard Casey Mitchell to its training roster – along with Samhan.
Samhan, who was one of the NCAA Tournament’s most intriguing personalities during the Gaels’ Sweet Sixteen run of 2010, played last season with Zalgiris Kaunas in Lithuania.
